Painting Recovered After Theft from New York City Art Storage Facility

Mar 16, 2007

A common problem, artwork entrusted to fine art storage facilities goes missing either by outsider theft or with insider help. Often, the victims are not aware of the theft until years later.  Caution should be taken when hiring such a facility and inventory must be updated frequently.

A difficult negotiation, the recovery of this Ben Ali Haggin portrait was particularly rewarding since the victim was the son of the artist and the subject of this painting.
