Identified as having been looted by the Nazis and subject to a claim by the heirs of Benno and Frances Bernstein. Litigation was commenced and three sets of lawyers billed their clients until they reached a breaking point.
Chris Marinello was brought into the discussions in 2008 and fashioned a confidential settlement that was acceptable to all parties. The painting was sold and the proceeds distributed in accordance with that agreement.
