David Teniers II Painting Recovered in London
Apr 27, 2010
Stolen from a London based collector in 1997, this painting appeared for sale at Christie’s London in 2009. The Westminster Police seized the work and held it pending documentation from the consignor. The consignor claimed that he inherited the work from his father, an antiques dealer. Chris Marinello and the attorney for the consignor reached an amicable, and confidential settlement in April 2010. The painting was returned to the theft victim.
