Dispute over Islamic Bowl that ‘Survived’ Plane Crash is Settled

Chris Marinello, acting on behalf of Underwriters, negotiated a partial return of proceeds after this item was reported to have been destroyed in a plane crash. The insurers paid out on the loss in 2007 only to discover it being offered for sale at Sotheby’s.
A lawsuit was filed against the consignor who alleged that he acquired the bowl from the insured! Clearly, someone made an error and the matter was resolved quietly in 2011.
