Richard Diebenkorn “Untitled, Woman on Beach” Recovered

The recovery of this Diebenkorn was an incredible story, much of which, must remain confidential.

Reported stolen in 2002, the theft victim collected significant insurance proceeds.  In actuality, the “victim” had set up a Trust for his 3 children and then stole the original paintings from them.  He had copies made and switched the copies for the originals.  The Insurer caught on when this Diebenkorn appeared for sale at a major NY auction house. Chris Marinello handled the delicate negotiations with the attorney for the now deceased “victim” pursuant to a confidential settlement agreement.  There are further details to this case that are beyond belief.
