Robert Indiana “Love” Rugs at the Center of Dispute

It never ceases to amaze us how some art dealers act towards other art dealers. In 2007 a dealer consigned 11 Robert Indiana “Love” rugs to another dealer in California. The second dealer claimed the rugs were stolen when in fact she started selling them and keeping the funds. Of course, the first dealer spotted them and the battle began. Chris Marinello was brought in to resolve the longstanding dispute which finally concluded in 2012.
