Painting Stolen by Infamous Art Thief in 1982 is Recovered
Dec 6, 2012
In 1982, infamous con man and fraudster Charles Heller was wreaking havoc among New York City art galleries. He was arrested in 1983 but not before transferring this painting to another gallery. When the gallery owner died, his Estate uncovered the title problem when it attempted to consign the painting to a London based auction house.
Chris Marinello, acting on behalf of the original theft victim, resolved the title dispute with the Estate pursuant to a confidential settlement agreement.
